I wanna talk about Bad Fur Day for a bit, as well as how I've been faring in Live & Reloaded.
Playing BFD in Rare Replay was an amazing experience. The gameplay was fun, and tge writing is actually pretty good. I'd go as far as to call it one of the finest games Rare has ever done. I loved every minute of it, but my gripe? Shooting controls are finicky at best, and it takes some getting used to, with having to use the left stick to aim and the right stick to move when other games don't do that. Still, I got used to it, and the game remained awesome.
Live & Reloaded, however? Twken on its own merits, it's also a fine game. But as a remake, it's both the inferior version and a bit too faithful to the original. It feels more like a second playthrough. The graphics are improved (looks good enough to qualify as an early 360 game, I agree), but the facial animations aren't as good. Also, why are there enemies sprinkled in places where they weren't originally there? It's not a problem most of the time, but in some areas...yeah, I think they were hard enough without those enemies.
Also, added censorship. Cnsidering MS was kinda advertising themselves as darker than Nintendo, you would have expected less censhorship, but the opposite happened, censoring words that the N64 (and later Rare Replay) version got away with. Plus, it ruins some scenes, especially the Great Mighty Poo song. Shame, hearing the uncensored version of the L&R rendition, I think I prefer it...
New story content was added, though I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll say what I think when I get to it.
On the plus side, shooting controls were improved. Wish that carried into the Rare Replay version, but oh well...
So my thoughts on Live & Reloaded? The inferior version...which is what everyone else thinks! Still, taken on its own merits, it's still a great game.

I think the censorship is fine aside from the Great Mighty Poo song. The real change that bothered me was the baseball bat. My hunch is that's why the enemies were added but more than anything they just break the flow and get in the way while you mash the button till they die. Really obnoxious and pointless when the frying pan was fine as-is.
It sure is a pretty-looking game though for its time.

Wish I had a way to play Live and Reloaded so I could add my two cents on it. Hoping it hits Xbox One in some shape or form one day.

I haven't played through L&R since around 2008-ish, but I recall being disappointed in the changes. I also think the frying pan was fine as it was, and actually added to the comical appeal of the game. The bat is just too much - takes some finesse out of the combat by being able to run and whack. I think I understand the change as it applies to the multi-player, but it changes the single-player almost too much.
As far as BFD in Rare Replay - I loved it and didn't have any issues with the controls, per se. The camera was a bit of a struggle, but mostly because I had been playing BK and BT so much recently. When BFD originally came out, I hadn't really played either in a quite some time, and it was the only game I was playing at the time (rather than jumping between games as is so common now). So the camera didn't feel so confusing in context.
I am also in the camp that thinks the additional censorship in the L&R version was un-necessary and takes away from the game. Some of the comedic effect is lost in the additional beeps.
And lastly, yes it was absolutely beautiful - I still can't believe it is an Xbox game and not a 360 launch game.

I own L&R but have yet to pop it in. I need to get around to that! Side note: I love drinking while playing CBFD. I know it sounds juvenile, but a slight buzz feels like the right way to play it. haha

I was only 15 when it first came out and didn't drink yet, but this time playing through in Rare Replay I had a nice buzz going on most of the time whilst playing and I think it just enhances the South Park-style humor

I never drink alcohol, at least partially out of fear of being a violent drunk. Would I be one? Not sure, but I don't think I wanna find out.
Besides, I enjoyed the game immensely being sober. On a more positive note, I'm getting through L&R faster than BFD. Must be because I already know what I'm doing, while in my BFD playthrough, I was learning stuff.
