Hi! My name is Kirsty and I'm a jeweller/designer and long time Rare fan from Australia. I have been playing Rare games since the snes days but the first game I personally owned was Banjo Kazooie - a game I pumped some 100+ hours in as a kid. I recently discovered your podcast and am very interested to see it grow and improve! Hello and welcome to the forum!! Welcome! Always happy to see a new face around here. Means we must be doing something right I suppose. Glad to have you. So you design jewelry? That's pretty cool. Now I know who I should go to if I ever want some gangsta Banjo bling.

Hello, all. RdCrestdBreegull here. Also known as Vanillad Cummings on the fb. The first Rare games I owned were Donkey Kong Land III and Diddy Kong Racing, but I played other Rare games on my friends' consoles growing up. I really started noticing Rare as a company after I got into Banjo-Kazooie (received as a present from my parents for my 8th birthday) and have been hooked ever since. My favorite Rare game (and favorite video game, period) is Banjo-Kazooie. I think Tooie is a better game but I always choose Kazooie because of the nostalgia from playing it as a kid. I also very much enjoy Rare's Donkey Kong games (and also Retro's), Conker's BFD, Viva Piñata, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, and pretty much everything I've played on Rare Replay so far (most of which I had already played on the original consoles). I have a pretty nice Rare game and soundtrack collection. Here's a picture I took for a Rare Replay contest (which I didn't win): I'm a saxophone player and used to play in a few bands. I'm currently in a band but we never practice because of jobs, kids, etc. Currently pursuing mandolin. I used to be a moderator on the old Rare-Elite forums (which I believe are actually still online, so I am technically still a mod) and was also a staff member over there for a little bit. Rare-Elite is now known as Rare Fandabase. Another fun fact, I was actually the little boy on the cover of Mario's Early Years: Preschool Fun. I remember meeting Mario and taking pictures with him. People always ask me if he took advantage of me sexually, and honestly I can't remember.

I must say, your the first person I have ever met who has been featured on the boxart of video game. I'm now going to considered some weird kind of celebrity. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Hello and welcome! Sweet collection of Rare goodness you have there! And I totally recognize your name from Facebook from several Rare-related posts over the years!
Also - I have the pretty much the same take on Banjo-Kazooie vs. Tooie. It's my all-time favorite game as well!
And it's so cool that you have that little claim-to-fame with the Mario box! Care to elaborate on how that came to happen? Were your parents just sort of taking you to modeling shots, or did they know someone in the marketing agency responsible for it?

I used to model as a kid, hehe. I think I had an agent. And yes I am an actual character in the Mario universe
