What's a Rare site without a thread dedicated to this?
Can't think of much that hasn't been said already. I've played several collections, but this one beats them all by a long shot. So many classics, and a way to show my nephews some old childhood faves.
I bought an Xbone for this. Best purchase I've made on any current gen thing. Dunno what that says, though...still, I haven't regretted the purchase. I'm not fond of every game, but there's so much to love they make up for it.
My gripe is that on the 360 games, it wouldn't let me do local multiplayer. This put a damper on my nephew's enjoyment, though we played RC Pro Am II instead.
Still, if you only have money for one Xbone purchase, and you don't have this collection, get it! You won't regret it!

It warms my heart hearing that this game is a console seller for a lot of folks.

Still really enjoying this game! I'm not sure how many hours I've put in, but I've made decent progress on stamps considering I don't have tons of time to put into video games (plus the fact that Mario Maker has in fact been taking more of that precious time the past couple of weeks).
That said, I played Banjo Tooie some the other night and had a great time. I always forget that I do like the game; I tend to avoid it more often than not because of the scope and backtracking. And I need to just get over that and enjoy it for what it is. I found out that I'm much further along in my save file than I remember - 77 jiggy's and 880 notes. I think I also have like five or six jinjos left. I should have probably started it over again, but the fact that my 360 save was just there made it easier to just resume where I had last played, probably back in 2010 or so.
On the flip side, I've played through Banjo Kazooie 100% three times since E3. I can't help it... I just love it too much lol.
Also beat Conker and just need to do the multiplayer stamps; about halfway through Ghoulies; about half an hour into Jet Force Gemini, annnnnnnd have yet to play Kameo or either Viva Pinata (my fiance wants to experience those with me, so I've been waiting for her to want to start that [which will probably be after our wedding]).

I got to play Rare Replay with a longtime friend. It was loads of fun. We played Killer Instinct Gold, Battletoads Arcade and Conker's Bad Fur Day, and I decided to show him Grabbed by the Ghoulies, since he's into that Haloweeny stuff, and I figured it was right up his alley. I didn't let him play it, though. Wish I did, but at least he had fun watching me.
He doesn't have an Xbone of his own, though he has an Xbox 360. I decided I was overdue for giving him something, so I gave him my 360 copy of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. I didn't give him my N64 copies of Kazooie and Tooie, though, because honestly, I'm not sure how reliable they are.
I do hope he'll get an Xbone eventually, but in case he couldn't, I told him he could still play some of its games on his Xbox 360. The Grabbed by the Ghoulies disk still works on the 360 backwards compatibility, right?

It should still work o the 360. If he is going to get an Xbox One at some point though, I'd almost recommend waiting. Ghoulies on the X1 just looks and plays so much better at 1080p 60fps.

I look forward to checking that out when I get a chance. Unfortunately the rest of my day is going to be taken up attempting to clock Kameo

New update. Fixin' bugs, and Battletoads Arcade sounds more like it did in the, er, arcade.
'course, an option to go back to the higher ptch would have been nice. Some might have liked that more. Still, at least they fixed it.

So my personal update on Rare Replay: I'm still only roughly halfway through Grabbed By the Ghoulies and have somewhat lost interest. I'm definitely gonna finish it, and I love the game in and of itself, but I just sorta have been burned out by the repetitiveness. The visuals and atmosphere are great, though. Just gotta dig in and do it.
I took that opportunity to start up Kameo. I do quite enjoy it, and wow is it pretty - but I feel the gameplay isn't as tight and enjoyable as some other Rare games. I feel a delay in going from one move/animation to the next during attacks and it impacts the game flow. I am not super far into it yet, but hopefully I will get used to it and really won't impact me as much as it feels now.
And as previously mentioned, I also had been waiting to start Viva Pinata until my fiance had time to join me (upon her request), so we started it this past weekend. We both fell in love with the game. It is truly amazing, and surprisingly very deep (I knew it would be, but holy crap there's a lot of content and combinations and such). Really excited to come to a point in this one where we feel a sense of completeness (maybe a certain gardener level or something) so we can move onto the sequel.
Still haven't played more into Jet Force, but was really loving the new controls, so I will get to that here and there when I can.
I also didn't realize there were more cheats than just rewind added to some of the old games, so I'm thinking of looking into what is there for some of the old games. Might actually get me to play them through to completion. We shall see!

I'm still chugging along: About 4 or 5 stamps away from Level 25. Moving from level to level is starting to take quite awhile for me.

I powered up Grabbed by the Ghoulies again last night, and I agree Jeph. It does start getting repetitive after awhile. But its also become more challenging and difficult. So im conflicted. Still deserves a better reputation than it currently has.

Definitely agree with that - it is a fantastic game, and it is quite challenging. I'm bummed that it has the bad rap it has. I think if they had found a way to add environmental puzzles or maybe some kinds of mini games to add some variety and break up the constant beat-em-up-en-route-to-a-fetch-quest style, it wouldn't get to the point it is for me now.
I think if I just take breaks from it (rather than focusing solely on it and trying to power through it) I can still enjoy it without getting bored. I think this game is one of those that just needs some self-pacing.
And yeah, Shogun - it's taking me forever to get to new levels at this point. I think I'm around 18 or 20, somewhere in there. I got an initial jolt from the easy achievements from VP, but not even enough to level up. I did, however, get the final milestone in BK:N&B over the weekend, so that was satisfying at least!

Ghoulies, I think is differently designed more for short spurts of play, rather than long sessions. It's pure genius when you play through a few rooms a day, but I can understand how it could seem like a chore for people who like to play the same game for 8+ hours a day. Really, that makes Rare Replay the absolute perfect place to experience the game. Ghoulies got you down? Play some Perfect Dark until you're ready for another go.
